we had a fun family favorite of "pizza and a movie night" The kids get so excited. we picked a movie they hadn't seen.....jumanji. they seemed to be okay during the movie, we did have to fast forward a few parts but other then that they did well......we thought! Carson was SO afraid to go to bed in his room so we let him sleep in Caleb's room. it took him a while but he went to sleep. then around 11:00 he started waking up every half hour until 3:00AM!!! he kept complaining he was scared and that he couldn't stop thinking about the movie and if he fell asleep he was afraid that he would have bad dreams. reed and i were trying to be patient but COME ON! The kid watches starwars....ALL....THE....TIME! so four hours later, two head aces, a few prayers, and many okay Carson that is enough its time to go to sleep, he finally fell asleep and was all smiles this morning. i think his parents suffered more then he did. maybe next pizza movie night we should watch Jurassic park, i wonder how many hours and how many kids we would have up all night! hardy har har!!

That's crazy! My kids watch Harry Potter and you just never know what they will be scared of. Tom has shown them parts of Lord of the Ring and they are all scared of Gollum. When the kids wake us up that often we just have them sleep on our floor...finally we put a mattress under our bed just for that purpose...and we usually have one kid a night sleeping on it. Good times!
Yeah - I don't let me kids watch ANYTHING that could EVER be remotely construed as scary! After nightmares regarding a Scooby-do episode...forget it. Sleep is too valuable.
Jumanji...You should avoid that movie because it's a horrible movie, it's a good thing that your kids are scared then maybe no one will ever have to see that again! Sorry, rant over! Kids are funny about what they find scary and whats totally fine.
Sophie is the same way, she finds some of the most docile creatures super scary. You know the big gingerbread guy in Shrek? She is terrified of him, but she can watch Indian Jones, Star Wars, the Star Gate (thanks Matt), creepy video games (again, thanks Matt)...kids are kooky... I hope you get some sleep tonight!
