is it time for school to start yet? i always swore i wouldn't be one of those moms that said "i cant WAIT till school starts" i thought, "how rude don't you "love" your children?" i love my children but today i learned why moms say they are ready for school to be back on... and i was reminded why i don't home school.
so here is how the day went. i woke up and the kids were slowly getting out of bed. they followed me around the house like little magnets all groggy and sleepy eyed. i went to the computer to do my typical check blogs, email, weather, and wake myself up. soon they were all gathered in a semi circle around my chair wining about being hungry so i took them all down stairs and got breakfast out. i took myself to the treadmill and not 5 mins into my walk (i walk not run) they started gathering around me and the treadmill, whining and fighting and fussing. they did this THE WHOLE TIME i was on the darn thing. so when i was done i asked them to please go find something worth while to do while i showered and then we would go to the pool or the library to which i received more wailing and complaining. so then they took turns coming into the bathroom while i showered to complain about so and so who was doing such and such. AUHH.
so we went to the library, daddy's office, smiths, and grandmas. (sigh) i felt rejuvenated. so we came home and all fussed while i tried to get them to do their chores so they could watch a movie. now the house is clean quiet and i have a hot date in one hour!!!!

Yep, the guilt is even worse when you work all year and then think, "I can't complain about being home!" But there is something about summertime, the unstructured routines, ALL the kids at home ALL day...I totally am loving the summer home but the other day we drove past the school and Sydney sighs and says,"When can we go back to school?! I love school! I miss school!" So there you have it, the kids feel the same way! :) Good job for getting on the treadmill and blocking out the whines! And have fun on your date!!
