creative

just recently i was wondering blogs late at night and found some fun sights all about decorating and crafting. i thought it was fun to see some fast good idea projects to do and thought i would share a few of my own.

i made these blocks for maia's room. they were really easy. i bought them from michaels and painted them white, sanded the edges and placed the stickers. tada! see? quick and easy and so cute, not to mention educational.....ask her how to spell her name. M-A-I-A

this is a mat for a picture frame. we did this at a stake craft night. i had a bunch of wallet size pictures printed out in black and white and cut them to size. it helps to make a template of your mat before you start cutting your pictures, that way you are sure to get the right size and shape out of your pictures. i did 6 vertical and 4 horizontal and 4 pictures that would work for corners. so a total of 14 pictures. i had planned on putting the family proclamation inside but now we have an extra little person so i just hang it in my craft closet and smile at all the cute pictures. (reed made me this great little craft closet, i'll have to show you some pictures of that! he is so handy.)

this isnt anything i made but i just love decorating with house plants. when you are looking at something and you keep thinking something is missing try plants. it softens your designs and adds a great feeling of aliveness, (i know that seem like its not a word, but it works for me!:) ps another shout out to my sweet husband, he gives me one of those willow trees for special moments like having a baby or an anniversary.

speaking of creative here is caleb's stepping stone he just made with his friends. he has these twin buddies who love to craft like caleb. they have been getting together to do fun projects. today they are going to paint piggie banks. can you see the dragonfly?
