yesterday reed and his buddy Evan went to the dump several times to bring me some brown gold. the dump has free compost for your garden. we were so excited to get some and start planting. it looks great and it will do great things but it doesn't smell great. in fact it smells horrible. so bad that we all of the sudden have flies everywhere. when the wind blows it blows into my house, uggh it is so nasty. i hope that the smell dissipates with time!
before

after

we still have a long way to go, but the big sappy tree is gone, the nasty rocks and railroad ties are gone and the grass is growing in. now i just have to design the planter beds. yikes

It looks great. I really like the way it opens up your house without the tree there. Hopefully the smell goes away soon, maybe by the time you get home from Idaho/Utah?
It looks awesome! It must've been hard to get that huge tree out! You are going to have so much fun putting plants and flowers in!
looking better. Are you sure the smell isn't Reed? Because I don't think that will ever go away.
